Introduction
This page is dedicated to introducing ourselves.
This is primarily a freelance business owned by Brynn Wright, with help from my family and my lovely partner, Kaye.
We are first and foremost community members, we have learned these skills through work, and helping others, and want to share that valuable knowledge with others. Between myself, my family and my partner, we have a boatload of hobbies, so we can usually make small talk somehow.
Brynn Wright
My name is Brynn Wright, I have been working with computers since I was about eight years old, and never quite lost the passion despite computers trying their hardest. I first started playing with hardware and software in middle school when I started a "tech club," which was really just an excuse to get my friends to spend time with me helping the school's IT person. This is where I learned some coding and how to play with Linux.
As with many things, it is nearly impossible to describe where I have accumulated my experience. A lot of it has come with a variety of little projects, and from my willingness to try to fix anything that breaks. I've gotten pretty good at it, I've kept the people closest to me's car's on the road for a few years now! But my IT experience really comes from my position at the College of Forestry Helpdesk.
A couple of years into that job, I started to offer to work for customers who were not eligible for our services, which slowly expanded into more and more opportunities. Eventually, for a short time, I became the primary IT consultant for the Calvin presbyterian Church in Corvallis, OR. I did screen, keyboard, and drive replacements for laptops, and even managed Microsoft Azure and Email services for a time. This experience has come quite in handy for this website.
Outside of computers, I love to watch movies, go bowling (my high average is 130ish), make art, and to spend time with my cat Curie.
Kaye Neill
Hi, I’m Kaye Neill. I got my start with computers in 8th grade when I built my very own desktop, and was hooked, so much so that I got a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oregon State University.
I have been doing robotics and design in general since 5th grade. In high school I was introduced to CAD software and have been doing 3d printing design as a hobby since.
My latest project has been designing and building a mobile airtight container for a glass grinder, used in my stain glass projects. In college I had the opportunity to work at the College of Forestry helpdesk, furthering my experience with troubleshooting computers. My other hobbies include making stained glass art, bowling (my average is 150), biking, and 3d design.
Curie
This is my cat Curie. My dad found her and her litter mates on the side of the road in a pile of sticks at about five weeks old. We looked out for their mom for a bit, but she had presumably been unable to return for some reason. It took several days to catch this rapscallion, but once she was home, she stayed.
I've been lugging her through moves for about four years now, and she just keeps on acclimating and hanging out. She, like me, is extremely routine oriented, and will try to herd me to bed when I've been up too long. She's very well behaved and I love her more than anything.
With that information I'll pass the mic to her.
